It is done

We finally finished decorating this huge Christmas tree. It took several nights since we both have to stand on each side of our enormous ladder; one night to put the lights on; one night to put the ribbon and then the ornaments!!! We are thinking next year we will go a little smaller, of course I say this every year and Jason doesn't believe me anymore!!

We can't believe it!!!!

We can't believe it, Emery has outgrown his infant car seat. He is 17 lbs but due to his height he needs a larger car seat (which still makes us laugh). So today we purchased a new one (early Christmas present) and we tried it out tonight. Christy started crying because our little guy is growing too fast!!!

O Christmas Tree

We spent the day looking for the "perfect" Christmas tree in the forest with friends and Grammy Lynn. It took nearly 5 hours and it is not a perfect tree but it is our tree and it will work!!! We took the opportunity to take some pics and we found a little snow so Emery got to see it for the first time. This evening was the Christmas party at our church and Emery got to meet Santa Claus. Santa's helpers gave Emery a candy cane and he stuck it in his mouth, it was so funny the way he looked when he started to gag (see pics at the bottom).

And he is starting to gag himself!!

It's a miracle

I just wanted to share that Emery has been napping for 45 minutes in the morning the last couple of days!!! He is usually so predictable and will only nap for 30 minutes on the dot. Never does he go more or less than 30 minutes so the fact that he has decided to go longer is a miracle!!! I want to thank my friend Amy for her suggestion (I think feeding his solid food before the nap is doing the trick :)

New milestones

Emery turned 6 months old on Saturday November 29th!! I thought it would be fun to do a comparison of what he looked like in his car seat the day we brought him home from the hospital and what he looks like today! It is amazing how quickly he has grown. Emery had his 6 month doctor's appointment this morning, here are his impressive stats:

Weighing in at 17.1 lbs, and this is the best part, he is 27.5 inches long!!! Yes, our son is in the 84% percentile for height!!!! We are just laughing because as you all know he didn't get it from his mommy & daddy! He is laughing, grabbing & reaching for anything & chewing on everything. He can hold his bottle for a little bit (depending if he is in the mood). He loves to stand up (of course we are holding onto to him) and he is sitting up pretty well on his own. He continues to roll over to his belly (although still hasn't figured out how to get back over) and eating solid foods (his favorite is his oatmeal with sweet potatoes). Emery seems to be a happy boy! He brings us sooo much joy everyday, we can't imagine life without him!!!! We love you Emery Quinn!!!!!
